BlackoutOSThe Company Brain

About BlackoutOS

Every growing company eventually becomes too complex for one person to hold in their head.

Built by ecommerce operators, for ecommerce operators. BlackoutOS exists to become the permanent Company Brain — the intelligence layer above the systems that already run the business.

Why BlackoutOS exists

In the beginning, the founder is the company brain. They know every customer segment, every supplier, every campaign that worked, every machine that breaks the same way twice, and every lesson paid for in real money. Decisions are fast because the context lives in one place.

Growth breaks that. Knowledge scatters across provider dashboards, spreadsheets, inboxes, chat threads, repair notes, and the memories of people who may leave. The systems of record keep transactions, but not meaning — not why a decision was made, what alternatives were rejected, which experiment failed and what it taught. Each new tool adds data and subtracts coherence.

Companies at this stage rarely fail from a lack of information. They fail from an inability to hold, trust, and act on what they already know.

Built by ecommerce operators, for ecommerce operators

We didn’t build BlackoutOS because we wanted to start a software company.

We built it because we needed this software ourselves.

Between us, we have generated more than $60 million in ecommerce revenue. We ran the storefronts and the subscription programs. We bought the media and wrote the email and SMS flows. We managed the warehouse, the production floor, the equipment, and the supplier relationships behind all of it.

And each year the same thing happened. The business got bigger, the tools multiplied, and understanding got harder. A number on one dashboard disagreed with the provider it came from. A decision made six months earlier could not be reconstructed, because the reasoning left with the person who made it. A machine failed the same way twice because the fix lived in one technician’s memory.

So we went looking for the software we needed — not another dashboard, but something that actually understood how the business worked. We could not find it. So we built it, for ourselves first.

That is still how it gets built. Every capability starts as a problem we hit in our own operation, and it stays in the product only if it keeps earning its place.

Blackout Coffee is the proving ground. BlackoutOS runs a real operating business every day before any capability is considered finished. Automated tests prove repeatability and provider certification proves parity, but only daily operation proves usefulness. If a feature does not survive that, it does not ship.

What BlackoutOS does

  • Connects the commerce, subscription, marketing, traffic, and operations systems your company already runs on.
  • Establishes reality before reasoning — validating freshness, coverage, provenance, and trust, so no conclusion rests on stale or partial data.
  • Remembers decisions, events, explanations, outcomes, and operator knowledge that provider systems never preserve.
  • Explains what changed across systems and over time, with the evidence and the known gaps attached.
  • Recommends what to do next in the context of what the organization is actually optimizing for — including what each decision trades away.

Who it is for

Modern ecommerce operators, and the teams around them: CEO, COO, CMO, CFO, warehouse, shipping, production, equipment, and support. Every role gets its own view. Every role contributes to the same Company Brain.

How BlackoutOS uses Google user data

When your workspace chooses to connect Google, BlackoutOS requests read access to the following services. Access is granted per service, and you can disconnect any service at any time from the app or from your Google Account permissions.

  • Google Search Console (read-only) — search performance for your verified site: clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position.
  • Google Analytics (read-only) — GA4 traffic and conversion reports for the property you select.
  • Google Ads — campaign performance reports (spend, impressions, clicks, conversions) for the account you select. The Google Ads API publishes only one scope, with no read-only equivalent, so it grants broader access than BlackoutOS uses: we issue reporting queries only, and never create, edit, pause, or delete campaigns, budgets, or ads.

BlackoutOS never sells your data, never uses it for advertising, and never uses it to train generalized machine-learning models. It is visible only to authorized members of your own workspace. See the privacy policy for full details.

Access

BlackoutOS is currently private and invite-only — accounts are provisioned by a workspace admin, and there is no public sign-up. If you operate an ecommerce business and want to be considered, get in touch or email [email protected].
